Saturday Classes Begin Promptly @ 0830hr

* Prerequisites- (1) Set Accountability Tags, Signed Training Authorization Letter, Students ages 16&17 must have parent or legal guardians sign as well, complete set of approved turnout gear, approved SCBA w/spare cylinder and personal utility or life rope and a 32 oz sports drink.

Firefighter Assist and Search Team (FAST)

The firefighter as a member of a FAST operation will identify the tools and staffing requirements for a FAST operation; develop a rescue plan for a missing, lost, or trapped firefighter; demonstrate rope search techniques; and demonstrate removing a firefighter/victim up a stairwell, up or down through a hole in a floor/roof, moving a downed firefighter out of a window, and lowering a firefighter down a ladder. This course is physically demanding and requires the students to perform a number of evolutions with SCBA.
All students must be able to perform the evolutions and have medical clearance for SCBA use.
 

All attendees will be required to successfully complete the following FFI, SCBA Confidence and FF Survival skills on April 8, 2010 in order to attend the Saturday April 10, 2010 portion of the program:

3-2 PPE/SCBA Donning, 4-1 SCBA Emergencies, 4-2 Air Consumption, 4-3 Maze Skills,

6-1 Wall Breech Swim/Dive, 6-2 Low Profile, 6-3 Full Escape, 6-4 Following Hoseline,

6-5 1st Floor Window Escape, 6-6 Rapid Exit Location, FFS-E Breeching Walls, FFS-C Rapid Window Clearing

Prerequisites:

Firefighter Survival (2587) and Firefighter I (1S).
Students must also be physically capable of wearing SCBA and possess current medical clearance for SCBA use. Students not possessing this prerequisite will not be allowed to participate for their own safety.
