Agriculture Emergency Awareness Date: November 4, 2011 Location: Cortland County Office Building Time: 1900-2130 Unlimited enrollment Agricultural Emergency Awareness – Deals with what occurs from preplanning a farm to what should be done from the time of an incident to the time the emergency responders get there and how they can work together even after that. The intended audience is emergency responders (fire, EMS, law), farmers and the farm community (officials, Ag business owners etc.). This is a standalone session and a certificate of completion will be given (OSHA credit can be applied). Sign up at county website or call 428-1524 Farmedic Awareness Date: November 5, 2011 Location: Willet Fire Department Time: 0800-1600 Max # students= 60 FARMEDIC Awareness (must complete Ag Emergency Awareness first, either in person or online) this classroom and tour portion builds on the information learned in Agricultural Emergency Awareness and is for fire and EMS providers. Topics include Ag Structures, Ag Chemicals and an introduction to machinery extrication, cribbing and tools. Part of the day will be spent on the farm doing tours, boots must be worn and wear old clothes, and you will smell when you get done. A certificate and OSHA credit will be given. Normal cost for this program is $65 per student. ESIP is underwriting the cost of this class as it is being offered here in their home county so the cost of this program is only $10 per student. Sign up at county website or call 428-1524 Farmedic- Hands on Evolutions Date: November 6, 2011 Location: Willet Fire Department Time: 0800-1600 FARMEDIC Hands on Practical Evolutions (must complete FARMEDIC Awareness first). Full turnout gear or appropriate protective gear including steel toes shoes, gloves, head protection and eye protection is required. In this course students will work in teams to free victims from machinery roll over and entrapments. Students will work in an incident command format. I-100 and I-700 are required to take this course. A certificate, FARMEDIC patch and OSHA credit will be given. FARMEDIC is using this course as an instructor update and instructors are coming in from different parts of the country so don’t miss your opportunity to get the program at a greatly reduced cost with some great instructors.
