Fire Investigators
FIRE INVESTIGATION TEAM
1. The County Fire Investigation Team is under the jurisdiction of the County Fire Coordinator and operates in accordance with the Operations Plan.
2. To provide officials within the Fire Service and Law Enforcement agencies with professional assistance in determining the cause and origin of fires within territories covered by the Cortland County Fire Departments.
3. To discourage and deter those persons of society who would willfully set fires for either monetary or personal reasons by providing to the proper authorities accurate information and evidence that can be used towards the arrest and conviction of those involved.
4. To integrate the resources of the Fire Service and Law Enforcement agencies of Cortland County for mutual benefit in furthering fire prevention efforts and suppression of criminal activity.
