SFI Verfuss
Erik Verfuss: SFI # 1210
SFI Verfuss first became involved with the Cortland County fire service as a member of the Marathon Fire Department in 1988 where he served as a line officer and department training officer. Erik was hired by the City of Cortland Fire Department in 1993 and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Captain in 2006 and has served as the department's MTO.
Erik was afforded the opportunity in 1997 to become a Regional Academy Instructor for the NYS Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls where he worked within the Hazmat bureau, instructor certification programs and assisted in the development of the NYS Rehab class.
Erik was appointed as a State Fire Instructor for Cortland County in 2009, welcome aboard!
